It's been a while since I've posted and I had the urge to get some things off my chest. First of all, I'm reading "Odd Thomas" by Dean Koontz. The series started off okay but I am finding myself losing interest at book 6. I just started reading "The Art of the Deal" by Donald Trump which is okay. It's relatively entertaining so far.
My case manager has requested that I attend an infosession to meet people and to get out of my unit, and to hopefully make friends. The infosession is tomorrow. I did not book a ride and so I will not be going. I might make an alternative plan to attend in the future. Right now I am waiting for my psychiatrist to put me on epival, which is another mood stabilizer. He took me off lamotrigine already, and I am kind of suffering. For the past 6 weeks I have been suffering, as I come off this drug. I really feel I can't do anything worthwhile until I have the epival in my system. I don't think my case manager will understand that though.
The question is, do we fly straight and toe the company line, or do we do our own thing. For most of my life I have chosen to go straight ahead, following the path that was recommended by the general wisdom of those older than me. But I am learning more now, that there are many ways to be productive. You don't need to attend every class and shoot for an "A" every time. For example, for me, reading and blogging might be a suitable solution. I do not essentially want to go to infosessions.
I am hoping that the music blasting in my head will subside. It's really very mentally painful and aggravating to have songs in your head all the time. It started happening over a year ago when I had my mini-nervous breakdown. For many living in this building has been fine, it seems, but for me, it has been bordering on torturous much of the time.
